What is a good energizer for the brain? Ive tried a few of the energy vitamins and Im not energized.?

October 29, 2008 by admin

I did like the vitamin called Alive vitamin B but want somthing stronger.

Ginko Biloba and Ginseng are a good combination for helping give your brain a quick boost. Ginko is supposed to be good for helping development of long term memory and ginseng helps provide mental alertness.

However, the best way to boost your mental energy is also the best way to boost your physical energy. Work out. The endorphines released from physical energy are a natural stimulant for the brain. In addition, the more in shape you are, the less likely you are to feel lethargic during the course of the day.

Any Suggestions on Energy Level and vitamins?

I am needing to find a vitamin that will boost my energy level. I tried a multi-vitamin and it made me sick. Any suggestions?

Try Biotin. It can be found on the vitamin isle of just about any store. I take it and have heard it can boost your metabolism and give you energy (as well as other benefits like hair and nail growth). Also it won't make you jittery.

Why are B Vitamins found in energy drinks?

October 25, 2008 by admin

I was reading a list of nutrients that provide energy and B vitamins is not one of them. Can someone explain why they are put into energy drinks?

And yes, I do realize the stimulation from energy drinks is from the caffeine content.

B vitamins don't actually provide energy; they aren't a nutrient.

Essentially, what B vitamins (there are 8 of them) do is help your body break down carbohydrates into glucose (energy). They also help your body break down fats and proteins into energy.

So energy drinks may contain a lot of carbohydrates and the B vitamins are added to increase your body's use of these carbohydrates.

I take Vitamin B complex as directed by my physician. It makes a huge difference in my energy level.

This is a good basic article on B vitamins: http://www.howstuffworks.com/vitamin-b.htm

Activated B- Why Are Most Vitamin B Supplements Ineffective?

B-vitamins: available at pretty much any supermarket, drug store, gas station, tanning salon, lube/oil/filter place, bait shop, and indoor waterpark near you. Why? We know we need them. Yet, as you probably and suspiciously assume, most are terribly inefficient. Your investment and your chance of feeling better get — literally — flushed away.

Chances are, they’re not adequately absorbed in the body.
